Visit to AIM Open House

Yesterday I attended the Open House hosted by the Asian Institute of Management, Philippines at Hotel Hans Plaza in CP. I was planning to reach the place directly from office but changed plans and reached home instead first. The session was starting at 7pm and I reached home at 6:20 pm.
After reaching home I realised that I was already running late, had a quick change of clothes and rushed to catch the Metro to CP. The ride was nice and smooth and I listened to songs on mobile phone on the way. I managed to reach the hotel by 7:20 pm. At first glance it seemed to be a small but a decent looking hotel. I somehow managed to reach the right hall and the Open House was in full swing. An AIM professor was presenting before the audience a case for the MDM program (a program in which I had no interest at all). Everything he spoke seemed to be Greek to me and I felt extremely bored initially. But luckily he wrapped up the session in 20 minutes and then the fun started.
The next session was hosted by Professor Ricardo Linn and he spoke of the MBA and MM programs being offered by AIM. The professor was absolutely awesome and had the audience in splits with some wisecracks. He also demonstrated before us how the actual teaching takes place in AIM.
I was pretty impressed by the case study method of teaching and realised it would be absolutely great to learn in such an environment. Overall the session was pretty good and I was highly inpressed by the professor. Hopefully there will be more of his type at AIM.
The only thing which I did not like about the whole open house was the quality of Alumini which had come. They did not seem to be the kind of people whom you would like to study with nor did their job profiles seem to be very impressive.
And the best part of the session was the food and snacks that followed all the talk. I filled myself with all the grub and had some hearty laughs with my friend.
All in all a good experience.
